Works well until it breaks I have used this product for less than 6 months and it doesn't work anymore. The wires got frayed at the base of the cord and just doesn't work. Did you read the product description? It literally says '10/100BASE-T performance' which limits the connection to 100Mbps. You will need to figure out your VPN situation, though. If your VPN connection is done in your user session it may not affect your entire system's IP routing. There's probably a way to make this work by messing with your routing tables, but you might consider instead looking into a hardware VPN solution that would sit between your modem and your MacBook.
